WFA Custom Uniforms: Herstory Through Football & Design

WFA Custom Uniforms: Herstory Through Football & Design

When their teams hit the field on May 1st, it had been 651 days since the Women's Football Alliance (WFA) last played a game. Sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the athletes of the WFA had been waiting longer than most to take the field and don their teams' uniforms.

As the Official Equipment & Uniform Provider of the WFA, Xenith chose to recognize the perseverance of the WFA athletes, coaches, and owners; as well as their commitment to each other and the sport of football, in a special way.

This spring Xenith provided the Austin Outlaws and Acadiana Zydeco Spice with a special opportunity to reimagine the look of their uniforms through custom design. Working in consultation with female designers from Xenith, each team developed a uniform concept that celebrated the story of their organization and showcased their teams' unique personalities. The goal of the project was to not only honor the talents of WFA athletes, but to also provide portfolio enhancing work for up-and-coming female designers in the business.

Check out the interview below with designers Morgan Parker and Hope Kemp-Hanson to learn more about their process, what inspired their designs, and to view the finished product on the field!

To the athletes, coaches, and owners in the WFA: THANK YOU for allowing Xenith to be a part of your story.  Xenith is proud to be the Official Equipment and Uniform Provider of the WFA and we wish you all the best of luck this season!
