A properly fitted helmet is critical to player protection and is essential to the use of all protective equipment. Football helmets must be properly fitted and maintained to effectively protect the player. Follow along to ensure your Xenith helmet fits correctly:
Measurements for helmet size should be taken 1" inch above the eyebrow around the circumference of the head. The size chart below is recommended as a guideline only. (Individual head sizes may vary.)
Step 1
Unbuckle the straps and pull the chin cup towards the facemask. Next, pull on the helmet and ensure the padding sits above the athlete’s eyebrow - also check to make sure there isn’t excessive space between the athlete’s cheeks, jaw pads, or occipital pad.
Step 2
Adjust the high straps FIRST by having the athlete hold the chincup to their chin. Next, pull the straps upwards so the chincup sits comfortably under the chin. Press the buckles firmly into place and ensure there is minimal slack in either straps.
Step 3
NEXT, pull the lower chin straps outward until the chin cup is securely in place. The Adaptive Fit System will adjust to feel snug and secure around the head. Bring the lower chinstraps beneath the jawline of the shell and up to the open snap. Slide each buckle along the chinstrap until you can snap the buckle into place on the outside of the helmet with no discomfort or slack in the straps.
Step 4:
With all four buckles snapped into place, apply mild force to the facemask in multiple directions. If there is excessive movement, tighten the chin straps and readjust the buckles until you’ve achieved a snug, secure fit. (Additional comfort pads are available on Xenith.com to dial-in the optimum fit.)
Step 5:
Once your helmet is comfortable and secure, feed the end of the chin strap through the second slot of each buckle to lock in the fit.
Unbuckle the straps and once again pull the chin cup towards the facemask to free up space so you can easily slide the helmet off your head.
