Ramping Up for 7v7 & Non-Tackle Football Season

With most tackle football seasons coming to an end, we're getting ramped up for the start of the 7v7 and non-tackle football season.

Let's be honest, there's not much that compares to the sound of helmets and shoulder pads colliding, but the start of non-tackle football season provides plenty of excitement, too - especially during the off season when athletes are chomping at the bit to get outside and be with their teammates. At the end of the day, if there's football, we're game!

We can't wait for all the highlights, the speed and intensity of 7v7 and of the course, the touchdown celebrations.

Participating in non-tackle football has plenty of benefits that transition directly to "traditional" tackle football, so if you or your youth athlete aren't currently involved in a non-tackle program, we highly encourage you to do some research around your local area to find potential league/team openings.

Here are some non-tackle football programs we recommend checking out:

NFL FLAG

NFL FLAG was launched with one goal: make football accessible for all children - no matter age, size, or gender. The NFL FLAG's mission is to "empower youth athletes and instill a lifelong passion for flag football through leagues that are engaging, fun, and accessible for everyone. With the support of the NFL, we provide a structured opportunity for kids to discover the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendship—both on and off the field.

FLAG FOOTBALL ON THE RISE

While youth participation in sports has declined 13 percent over the last decade, flag football has become one the fastest growing youth sports in the country. In fact, the number of 6-to-12-year-olds playing flag football has increased by 38 percent, to more than 1.5 million, since 2015. And NFL FLAG is leading the way as the largest flag football league in the U.S., with more than 1,600 leagues in 50 states.
