SIZES

These pads a great. My 7 yo loves them and so do I. But I disagree with your sizing. My son weighs 53 lbs and the small is a good fit that he can wear again next year. I also coach little kids, so I know when pads fit.

FABULOUS YOUTH PADS

I have a 10 year old son who plays linebacker and tailback so I wanted a set of pads that offered outstanding protection when hitting and getting hit. While look, weight and range of motion were important factors neither were as important as protection. We played with another brand the last two years but I switched him to the fly shoulder pads this season at his request. They were unbelievably light and he loved how they look but when he told me he felt no discomfort after hard tackles or after getting hit I was sold. These pads check all the boxes and I highly recommend them for all youth players. There really isn't another youth pad on the market that compares.

The pads offer full range of motion. Solid protection and have great durability.

FLY VS FLYTE

Tried on both the Fly and the Flyte. The Fly has a spine shield, grommets on the belt holes, and an extra "shock absorber" on the shoulder. However, I chose the Fly due to comfort. It just felt better even though both were much more comfortable and better range of motion than the school-issued Shutt shoulder pads.

BEST PADS OUT THERE FOR SMALLER KIDS.

My twins have always been on the smaller size going into tackle football in 5th grade they weighed about 60-70lbs the youth program pads wouldn't even stay on them. There were two sets of these pads the sizes I needed at our local Dick's Sporting Goods store I snapped them up and we've never looked back. Now, most of the better players on our school team have switched to these pads. The original pads we got back in 2016 are still going strong on other kids we've passed them down to. Now in HS I gave them the option of the more traditional-looking pads over the Velocity 2 (Flyte for varsity kids) and they hands down chose the pads that most resemble these. They have used Xenith youth Flyte pads from 5th through 9th grade. I've worried about the pads being lighter but my kids have said the improvement in how the pads allow them to move outweighs the bulkier padding.

GREAT SHOULDER PADS FOR MY 6 YEAR OLD.

Everything has been wonderful working with Xenith to suit up and protect my 6 year old son. The ordering process was easy (as usual) and the pads arrived quicker than expected. My son got them on and immediately said they were comfortable. I completely recommend the Youth Fly shoulder pads.

Got these for my 7 year old son who plays quarterback. They are very lightweight and have good range of motion for him throwing compared to others. We will definitely stick with xentih gear for years to come.

I just ordered the Flyte shoulder pads for my son and I am about to purchase the new XR helmet as well. These products are incredible because they have been enhanced for safety and mobility. I wanted my son to have the best possible products for his durability and these are second to none. I definitely recommend these products and all of Xenith’s products. I got the opportunity to try them on my son and he loved the way they felt and his freedom to move.

My son who's 11 wears both these shoulder pads and the xenith helmet. He has been offered many higher priced equipment and refuses then because you cannot convince him anything is better than these. We are going on his 3rd season in xenith and he will continue this tradition as long as he plays I am sure.

OVERALL GOOD

The pads are great giving awesome protection. The down side the clips on the straps started rusting only after a few weeks. My sons white Jersey is getting rust stains.

I've purchased 2 pairs of these pads for my son over the years (as he's out grown them). I believe these to be the best pads on the market. Lightweight.. Love the sternum plate and the metal buckles on the belts. High quality and durable. Highly recommended.

FLY YOUTH SHOULDER PADS

My son would always complain about how restricted his range of motion would be when using the traditional youth shoulder pads. After researching our options, we decided to give the Xenith, Fly Youth shoulder pads a try. Before he even fastened the straps he noticed a huge difference! After a full season of wear, they held up awesome and provided the range of motion needed for a skill position player. Our only recommendation would would be to add more padding on top of the shoulder. I highly recommend the Fly Youth shoulder pads!

YEAR 3

I bought these for my son when he started tackle football in 2016. I think they are great. Compared to his teammates team issued pads, the Xenith Fly cover so much more of the torso without compromising his mobility in both tackling, catching, and throwing. I am pleased with these and will buy the next size up as he will outgrow these by the end of this season. Keep putting out quality products, Xenith.

LIGHTWEIGHT AND GREAT LOOKING!

Got a pair of the Fly pads for my son during the Black Friday sale - and it absolutely made his Christmas!! We got the back plate too to go with it. The look alone is worth the money! We've tested them out playing ball in the yard and the pad offers great arm mobility and they are super lightweight. Can't wait until the season actually starts...Go Ducks!!!!!!

2 YEARS IN

I bought these for my son 2 years ago for his first experience in tackle football. They fit really well- low profile, great coverage area, lightweight, excellent range of movement. After 2 seasons, my son still loves them. His age groups ability has gotten better along with being more physical and these shoulder pads have exceeded expectations. I'm very pleased in my investment in my son's safety.

BEST PADS AVAILABLE

These pads offer the most protection, and are lightest in weight out of all the pads I looked at for my son (and I looked at ALOT of different pads). They're a little bit more expensive than most, but comfort and protection for my kid is one area that is worth spending the extra $$$. Highly recommend these pads.

GREAT PADS BUT NEEDS SOME WORK

Bought the XFlexion Fly pads for my son this season, because he is a bit undersized for his division and I wanted to give him the best protection possible. During his 2nd week in pads, he made a tackle and while landing, the ball carrier landed on top of him, with most of his weight on my son's sternum. After practice, my son commented on how he could feel the force of the ball carrier's weight on his chest, but also how he could feel the chest plate working to disburse the pressure away from his sternum. The chest and back plates as well as the light weight, were a real selling point for me. However Xenith needs to add another layer of padding to protect the top of the shoulders during tackles; the little rubber bumpers Xenith added in lieu of more foam padding is more "show than go" in my opinion. The top of my son's shoulders are red eveyrtime he takes his pads off after practice, which I believe is due to the pack of padding in that area. i bought him a padded under shirt to solve this problem but shouldn't have to after dropping $130+ on these pads.
